Used Hunting Optics

Used Hunting Optics
PLEASE HELP! What kind of rifle scope should I get?!?

I'm getting a Remington 700 new cameras in 7 mm Rem Mag morning and want to get room for it. I will use this weapon for most of my hunting (deer, big boar, elk, etc) … I am very familiar with using a rifle (in the Infantry Marine for over 5 years) .. but I'm new in optics! I love a nice area that has a clear field of view and can easily acquire targets that atleast 500 meters … N which is hunted distances at all times .. but it seems logical to spend a little more to do that, if necessary! Again, I am new in optics and REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate all the information you can give me! My price point had rather not go is $ 250-300. I can and will go a little more whether the scope is much better … Thanks in advance and I am eagerly awaiting your response!

Check out the line Millett of areas. He had one of its fields application on my service rifle 3 years ago (never issued our DMRS) Kept well, but I made a big mistake. I have not had all the lens caps. So please, remember that for Tapas. Not sure how to handle the recoil of a magazine, but defiantly should look into the TRS-1. There is one comment for http://www.snipercentral.com/milletttrs.htm snipercentral (.) EDIT: Hmm, that link appears to go directly to snipercentral.com, simply hover your mouse over the team and reviews the scope and Millett will be there, along with a range of a few comments of others.

Hunters often spend more money on optical equipment than they do on rifles, and yet they usually know very little about “glass.” Binoculars, rifle scopes and range finders cost a minimum of $1,000 each. That consumer wants to ensure he’s spending money on the right products. This book informs the reader what kind of performance to look for in optics, depending on where they’re going and what they’re hunting. Good binoculars and scopes vastly improve a hunter’s focus and range. Specific products are reviewed and presented here – with photos – in an easy-to-understand shoppers’ guide that will vastly improve the hunting experience.Thomas McIntyre is a contributing editor at Field & Stream, where he regularly tests new optics. He lives in Wyoming.

This new edition is intended for a one semester course in optics for juniors and seniors in science and engineering. It uses scripts from Maple, MathCad, Mathematica, and MATLAB to provide a simulated laboratory where students can learn by exploration and discovery instead of passive absorption. The text covers all the standard topics of a traditional optics course, including: geometrical optics and aberration, interference and diffraction, coherence, Maxwell’s equations, wave guides and propagating modes, blackbody radiation, atomic emission and lasers, optical properties of materials, Fourier transforms and FT spectroscopy, image formation, and holography. It contains step by step derivations of all basic formulas in geometrical, wave and Fourier optics. The basic text is supplemented by over 170 files in Maple, MathCad, Mathematica, and MATLAB (many of which are in the text; al scripts are included on the CD), each suggesting programs to solve a particular problem, and each linked to a topic in or application of optics. The computer files are dynamic, allowing the reader to see instantly the effects of changing parameters in the equations. Students are thus encouraged to ask "What if?" questions to asses the physical implications of the formulas. The discussion of Fourier transforms in particular is enhanced by the availability of numerical methods. The book is written for the study of particular projects but can easily be adapted to other situations. The threefold arrangement of text, applications, and files makes the book suitable for "self-learning" by scientists or engineers who would like to refresh their knowledge of optics. In the classroom, the Maple, MathCad, Mathematica, and MATLAB scripts can serve as starting points for homework; outside, they can help find solutions to complex problems in engineering applications. Some praise for the previous edition: OPTICS AND PHOTONICS NEWS [OCTOBER 2004] "This book and its companion CD cover geometrical optics, electromagnetic theory, interference, diffraction and coherence theory. Chapters on optical constants, blackbody radiation, emission and absorption, lasers, holography and Fourier transform spectroscopy broaden its scope. The packet contains over 170 MathCAD files linked to specific topics and applications. … [T]he main virtues of the book are the excellent photographs of basic optical phenomena. … The index is comprehensive. … [The book] will certainly be helpful to … students in an introductory optics course." THE PHYSICIST (March/April 2004) "The author has developed a suite of model programs covering the whole spectrum of optics from classical geometric ray to wave and modern optics. Illustrative resonator and waveguide modes are also part of the program mix as well as introductory laser theory. In addition to an optics course, this book would be useful in a 3rd or 4th year electromagnetism course as well as an…
